A. In order to give a ballpark figure we included this flooring calculator here. We do not guarantee the results of this calculator in giving you an accurate estimate for flooring. A professional flooring consultant can give you an accurate calculation of all costs involved for a particular job. This calculator will hopefully  provide for you a reasonably close idea of your flooring costs.

LENGTH: add up the total length of all rooms then input.

To find the length of a room*
1. If either Length or Width is over 12ft - use the longer of the two.
2. Length & Width are 12ft or less - use the shorter of the two.
3. Length & Width are both over 12ft - divide the room into two rooms,
and use Length per step 1 or step 2 above.

*If the carpet is layed widthwise the length cannot be over 12ft. If the carpet is layed lengthwise the width cannot be over 12ft. This will yield one seam per adjoining room. Unless you have divided a room into two rooms and of course there will be an additional seam there.
